Employment

Part-time employment, either on campus or off campus, enables students to earn money to apply toward educational expenses. Georgia Tech has several programs available:

Federal Work-Study Program

Federal Work-Study Program funding is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who enroll at least half time and demonstrate financial need. Federal Work-Study awards vary from $600 to $1,500 per semester and are earned during the period of enrollment. You may either work in an on-campus job or in a community service job off campus. Georgia Tech encourages Work-Study Program participants to consider opportunities for employment under Georgia Tech's community service initiative. More information is available at www.finaid.gatech.edu/fws.

Co-op Jobs and Internships through the Georgia Tech Division of Professional Practice

The Division of Professional Practice (DoPP) is the home of the Georgia Tech Undergraduate Cooperative Education, Internships, Graduate Cooperative Education, and Work Abroad programs. These four optional programs offer students the opportunity to gain one or more semesters of work experience while attending Georgia Tech. Most DoPP jobs are paid work assignments, and they can be located in the Atlanta area, across the United States, or in several other countries around the world. Most also require students to alternate semesters between work and attending classes.

More than 3,000 Georgia Tech students currently participate in the four separate DoPP Programs, working with more than 1,100 businesses and organizations worldwide -- ranging from small privately owned enterprises to major multinational corporations and governmental agencies. The Georgia Tech DoPP programs have consistently been listed in U.S. News & World Report "Programs to Look For" in their listing of co-op and internship programs of all U.S. colleges.
