Employment

Part-time employment, either on campus or off campus, enables students to earn money to apply toward educational expenses. Georgia Tech has several programs available:

Federal Work-Study Program

Federal Work-Study Program funding is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who enroll at least half time and demonstrate financial need. Federal Work-Study awards vary from $600 to $1,500 per semester and are earned during the period of enrollment. You may either work in an on-campus job or in a community service job off campus. Georgia Tech encourages Work-Study Program participants to consider opportunities for employment under Georgia Tech's community service initiative. More information is available at www.finaid.gatech.edu/fws.

Cooperative Plan

This program enables you to work and attend school, typically in alternating semesters. This plan provides an excellent opportunity to gain work experience while helping to finance your education. Co-op students may apply for both need- and merit-based financial assistance. Aid will be provided only during the semesters of school attendance. More information about the Cooperative Plan may be obtained by calling 404.894.3320 or by visiting their website.

On-Campus Job Opportunities

Many Georgia Tech students work part time in various departments on campus. These positions are not need-based and do not require a financial aid application. Job information is available from the Office of Career Services at 404.894.2550 or on the web via their website.

Summer Internships

Georgia Tech offers opportunities for full-time or part-time summer internships. Contact the Office of Career Services at 404.894.2550 or on the web at their website.

Off-Campus Employment

The Atlanta metro area offers a great opportunity for part-time employment during the school year. Contact the Office of Career Services at 404.894.2550 or on the web.
