Scholarship & Mentoring Program for Undergraduate Students in Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics Degree Programs at Georgia Institute of Technology
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation
Funded under NSF's Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship program, FAST will guide students to success in technological fields. Georgia Tech offers a wealth of opportunities to study and work at the leading edge of technology. FAST program scholarship winners will use their access to expert mentoring for guidance in balancing courses, research experience, design competitions, and extracurricular activities.

Eligible Degree Programs
FAST recipients must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in the following disciplines:
- College of Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Bio-engineering
- Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Industrial and Systems Engineering
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Textile and Fiber Engineering
- College of Sciences:
- School of Mathematics
- College of Computing:
- Computer Science
Who Should Apply
Applicants to eligible degree programs, current students and transfer students, who qualify under Federal Financial Aid guidelines. Minimum GPA needed to receive the NSF-FAST Scholarship are listed below.
- Freshman...... 2.0
- Sophomore... 2.3
- Junior............. 2.4
- Senior............ 2.6

Program Elements
- Selection based on need, academic record, essay and resume of activities
- Award amounts up to $3125/yr
- Awardees participate in seminars and Mentoring program.
- Selection reviewed each year based on progress and participation.
ATL Seminars
"Access to Technology Leadership": seminars will be given by faculty, industry leaders, GIT alumni, student competition teams and FAST program alumni. These seminars are a part of the FAST program. They will give students clear perspectives on the wealth of opportunities before them, and guidance on how to become technology leaders.
Mentoring Program
FAST participants work with a faculty mentor to develop academic and career plans, and to help other awardees.
Program Assessment
All awardees participate in helping to assess, document and improve the program's success.
