This scholarship is awarded from a fund established by Mr. and Mrs. William B. Adams. These unrestricted awards are granted by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services to students with outstanding academic records and financial need.

James Bowden Addy Scholarship

This scholarship has been established for students majoring in Architecture. It is awarded by the scholarship committee of the College of Architecture.

Albemarle Corporation Award

The income from the fund provides support for the Albemarle Corporation/Dixie Goins Outstanding Sophomore Award in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. The Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies will, at the direction of the Chair, select the recipient and administer the award

John Inzer Alford, Sr Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the John Inzer Alford, Sr. Scholarships. The scholarships shall be awarded to undergraduate students who have demonstrated financial need and academic merit. First preference shall be given to students majoring in Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering. Recipients will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services.

Grant Edwards Allen Endowment

This scholarship was established in honor of Grant Edwards Allen, by his sister Fae Donnetta Allen, who received a bachelor of Commercial Science through the Evening School at the Georgia School of Technology on June 8, 1931. The scholarship is also in honor of other members of the Allen family who have graduated from Georgia Tech: Grant Edwards Allen, Jr., IE '54, Thomas J. Allen, EE '22, Thomas Allen Jr., EE '48 and Thomas J. Allen, III IM '74. Awards are made to students who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to students who (or whose parents) are affiliated with the Wycliffe Bible Translators. If there are no Wycliffe recipients, second preference shall be given to students who are actively involved in the Presbyterian Church of America. Third preference is given to students involved in other Christian ministries. Selection is made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Marion E. Allen Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded from a fund established by Ronald W. Allen in memory of his father. Awards are administered by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services to worthy and needy students of any major.

Andrews Family Scholarship

An endowment to support Reconstruyendo el Puente (Rebuilding the Bridge): A fund for scholars from Cuba at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Preference given to students of Cuban descent, and eventually to potential students from Cuba

Dave and Carrie Armento Scholarship

This endowment was established to fund scholarships for needy students from the state of Georgia who are majoring in Computer Science. Preference is given to African American students. Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services with approval from the Dean of the College of Computing.

David J. Arnold Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships are provided from a fund established by Robert O. Arnold in memory of his brother. Awards are unrestricted as to the field of study and are granted on the basis of financial need. Preference will be given to residents of Henry, Newton, or Spalding Counties, Georgia; and of Griffin, Georgia.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

The Robert O. Arnold Scholarship

This fund has been established in memory of Robert O. Arnold, former chairman of the Board of Regents. The awards defray tuition or other educational expenses of worthy students. Preference is given to students from Newton County, Georgia, who have financial need and have excelled academically.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Frank M Bacon Scholarship

Scholarship awarded with preference to fifth year undergraduate with demonstrated financial need who has participated in the Division of Professional Practices (formerly) known as the Co-op program and who are in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Barksdale Scholarship/Fellowship Fund

Awarded to undergraduate or graduate in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering who has demonstrated financial need

Grace H. Barnes and Ewell I. Barnes Scholarship

The income from the Fund is used to provide scholarships to needy students at Georgia Tech. The recipients will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services.

Henry J Barnes Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to students who are majoring in Computer Engineering

Warren L Batts Co Op Scholarship

Awarded to students who are full time and enrolled in the Co Operative Education Degree Program. Preference given to rising seniors in good academic standing majoring (3.0 or better gpa) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Award also based on demonstrated financial need.

Arthur Frank Beckum, Jr. Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students who are junior or above level, including graduates. The recipient must be enrolled in the College of Architecture and demonstrate financial need as well as scholastic excellence. This scholarship is administered through the Office of the Assistant Dean of Architecture.

Frederick K. Bell Scholarship

This fund provides scholarships for students participating in the College of Architecture's City Planning Program. Recipients are selected by the Director of the Program and by the Dean of the College of Architecture.

Bernard Bellon Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in the School of History, Technology, and Society. Recipients are chosen on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.

Marcus C Bennett Scholarship

Awarded to students who have demonstrated financial need. Preference given to students majoring in Management.

Robert Daniel Betzel, Jr. Scholarship

Scholarships from this fund support students pursuing a career in Architecture. If possible, preference will be given to those participating in the Paris Program. Otherwise, students enrolled in any of the College's Study Abroad Programs may qualify. This award is based on both financial need and professional promise with special consideration given to the candidate's commitment to an architecture of comfort, grace and memory.  Recipients are selected by the academic school.

Charles Bickerstaff Scholarship

Unrestricted scholarships

F. & D. Birkett Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services to needy male students from Georgia who are predicted to perform at an above-average level. Preference is given to residents from Hall County, Georgia. The award is renewable for three additional years, if the student continues to meet eligibility criteria.

Roger Chisolm Bisher Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Roger Chisolm Bisher Scholarships to qualified undergraduate students. The recipients shall be based on merit and need to students in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering or to students in the School of Mechanical Engineering . Recipients should be third or fourth year students with preference to those who lose the HOPE Scholarships. Recipients of the scholarships will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor on the recommendation of the Chair of the Schools. In selecting recipients, consideration should be given to students who are mechanically inclined, who want to know more than theory, and whose enthusiasm and energy for learning indicate an entrepreneurial spirit.

A.D. Black Scholarship

Scholarships from this fund support needy students from Floyd County or Rome, Georgia. The candidate and at least one parent should have been born in Floyd County or the city of Rome. One half of the available income is awarded by the Floyd County School System, and the other by the Rome City Schools.

Tilman T. Blakely, Sr. Scholarship

An endowment funded by the Griffin Georgia Tech Club in honor of Tilman T. Blakely, Sr. The scholarship recipient must be a resident of and have graduated from a high school within Spalding County. Selection is made by the Griffin GT Club.

Estelle Z. Blalock Scholarship

This endowment fund was established in memory of Estelle A. Blalock. Major consideration is given to  needy Georgia residents, regardless of major or class year.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Blount Endowed Scholarship

A scholarship of $5,000 is awarded to students residing in Alabama. The eligible majors within the College of Engineering are Civil and Environmental, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering. The awards are provided through an endowment established by the Blount Foundation, Inc. of Montgomery, Alabama. The award may be  renewed for up to four consecutive years based on sustained outstanding performance and a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Jeffery Palliser Bosomworth Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to the active brother(s) of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity or the member(s) of the "Grad Council" entering their fourth or fifth school year. Candidates for this award are nominated by the Fraternity Committee.

Cynthia Bossart and James Efron Scholarship

Awarded to non resident undergraduates in the College of Sciences with demonstrated financial need

Guy R. Bostain Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded from a fund established in memory of Navy Commander Guy R. Bostain. Awards will be made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services to students who show strong academic promise, and preference will be given to Georgia residents. Awards are based on financial need.

Norman Ernest Boswell Memorial Scholarship

This award is intended for an undergraduate student enrolled in the Ivan Allen College of Management, Policy and International Affairs. The ideal candidate would be an Economics, Finance, or Management major who shows unusual promise in these fields. The scholarship is merit-based.  Awards are made by the academic school.

Henry and Margaret Bourne Scholarship Fund

This fund was established by the Georgia Tech Foundation to honor Henry C. Bourne, Jr., acting President of Georgia Tech from 1986 to 1987. The fund provides scholarships for needy undergraduate students of any major and class year.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Francis H. Brantley Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduates in the School of Polmers, Textiles and Fiber Engineering who have demonstrated financial need. First preference to Co Op students who are residents of Whitfield, Murray, Catoosa, Gordon, Walker or Gilmer Counties in Georgia. Second preference to students in above counties who are not coop.

Samuel P. Bratton Scholarship

Students pursuing a career in Civil Engineering are eligible for this scholarship. Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services based on their financial need, scholastic achievement, and extracurricular activities. Candidates should have a minimum 3.0 grade point average overall and a combined SAT score of 1200 or more.

L indsay Pope Brayfield Scholarship

Awarded by College of Architecture

John Brock Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the John Brock Scholarships. The Scholarships shall be awarded with preference first to undergraduate students majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and second to students in the College of Engineering . Recipients of the Scholarships will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor.

Arthur Dean Brook Scholarship

This fund was established by a gift from Mr. Arthur Dean Brook, '56 ME. Scholarships are available to rising sophomores in the School of Mechanical Engineering. The Office of Student Financial Planning & Services selects the recipients with notification to the Chair of the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering.

Joseph B Browder Scholarship

Awarded to rising senior with demonstrated financial need majoring in Electrical Engineering.

Kenneth H. Brown Free Enterprise Scholarship

The income of the Fund is used to provide the Kenneth H. Brown Free Enterprise Scholarship to students at Georgia Tech. The recipient(s) must be U.S. citizens and should be chosen based on merit, although need may be considered after the pool of candidates has been identified. The following criteria shall be applied in awarding the scholarships: 1). First preference should be given to lineal descendants of current employees of Brown Stove Works, Inc. who have two years' service or to the lineal descendants of former employees with 25 years' service. (The company will advertise the availability of these scholarships to current and former employees and will provide verification on company letterhead to the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services of any applicant's relation to Brown Stove Works, Inc)

Next preference to award would be any resident of Bradley county, and then Meigs, Polk or McMinn coIf not awarded, the earnings will accumulate for future use. If this scholarship cannot be awarded for five years, it may then be awarded to any entering freshmen with preference to residents of the State of Tennessee .

A candidate for this scholarship who meets the geographic preference and is related to a current or former employee of Brown Stove Works, Inc. as outlined above, should have a minimum 2.5 GPA. A candidate for this scholarship who meets only the geographic preference of the State of Tennessee , must have a 3.0 GPA.

A recipient of this scholarship may be renewed for up to seven additional semesters or equivalent quarters or until the achievement of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first, provided the awardee is attending full time and maintains either a 2.5 or 3.0 GPA, as stated above.

Lt Tyler Brown Scholarship

Awarded to entering freshman from Woodward Academy, Atlanta, Ga. who have exemplified the leadership qualities of Tyler Hall Brown. The scholarship is renewable to students in good academic standing for up to eight semesters.

Brown Stove Works, Inc. Free Enterprise Scholarship

This endowment was established to fund the education of students who are descendants of employees of Brown Stove Works, Inc. John A. & Joyce K. Caddell/Caddell Construction Co. Scholarship

In 1992 an endowment was created to honor John A. and Joyce K. Caddell.  Mr. Caddell was an architecture major who graduated in 1952. Recipients shall be graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in the Building Construction Program within the College of Architecture. Undergraduate recipients shall be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services based on financial need and merit. Graduate recipients shall be selected by the Building Construction Program based on the same criteria.

Robert Burton Caldwell Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded from a fund established in memory of Robert Caldwell, who attended Tech in 1974-1977. The awards are for young men who are residents of Meriwether County, Georgia, and who are graduating from high schools of Meriwether County in the top 20 percent of their class. The scholarship may be renewed and can be awarded to more than one individual at a time, including a young woman, if a young man is not enrolled. Preference is given to applicants who are living on farms and to those who have financial need.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

An annual scholarship is awarded from an endowment established by the family and friends of David Voigt Carswell, a 1985 Mechanical Engineering graduate. Gene H. Cates Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships assist deserving students enrolled in any class of the DuPree School of Management. Candidates should demonstrate financial need and should be performing above-average academically.

Chapman-Pentecost Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Professors Dr. Allan T. Chapman and Dr. Joseph Pentecost.  Awards are made by the School of Materials Science and Engineering to students with high academic achievement and financial need.

This endowment was established by the Griffin Georgia Tech Club in honor of John M. "Mac" Cheatham. Scholarship recipients must be a resident of and have graduated from a high school within Spalding County. Selection is made by the Griffin GT Club.

Margaret and Alton Costley Memorial Fund

The income of the Fund is used to assist worthy students in securing an education at Georgia Tech. The will provision states: " of my residual estate shall be paid to the Georgia Tech Foundation, Inc., to be held by the governing authorities of said Foundation as a perpetual fund, the income thereon to be used only to assist worthy students in securing an education in such way as the governing authorities of said Foundation may, in their discretion, determine, excluding any athletic purposes. Such fund shall be used to create a memorial in the names of Margaret and Alton Costley.

The Crowder Family Fund was established in honor of Robert Scott Crowder and Willie May Scaife Crowder to help deserving young people earn an undergraduate degree in the field of their choice. Horace E. Davis Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services to a student majoring in Management who is a Georgia resident with a grade point average of 2.8 or higher. The award is not need-based.

Phillip W. Davis Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Phillip W. Davis scholarships. In awarding the scholarship, preference shall be given first to graduating seniors from North Hall High School in Gainesville, Georgia, then to any graduate of North Hall High School, and then to any Georgia resident. Recipients of the scholarships will be selected from new entering students who have excellent high school scholastics achievement, good character, involvement in extracurricular activities and a need for financial assistance. Recipients will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services.

William Davis Pulp and Paper Scholarship

Scholarships are available to students who have completed The Pulp & Paper program at Georgia Tech. Awards are made by the School of Chemical Engineering.

Stephen Marshall Dixon Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established by John E. Dixon in memory of his father. The award is available to needy and deserving undergraduate students in the following order of preference: the state of Georgia; the states of Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee; any state within the continental United States.  Selection is made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Michael Adams Dobbs Scholarship

This scholarship is available to an incoming freshman and is renewable for up to four consecutive academic years. Preference is given to students who attended high school in Newton County, Georgia, then to those who attended any State of Georgia high school. Some other restrictions may apply.

Robert B. Dodds Scholarship

Scholarships provided from a capital stock fund are awarded to any deserving, needy student. Residents of the state of Arkansas will be given preference.  Selection is made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

The fund provides support for the Nancy Hicks Domingos and Karl Kirk Domingos, Jr., EE '38, Scholarships to qualified undergraduate students with preference to rising senior Co-op students majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The scholarships shall be awarded to undergraduate students who have demonstrated financial need. In awarding the scholarships, preference shall be given to students who are rising seniors in the Co-Op Program and majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering or its successor. Funds for this endowment are provided through the will of E. Rembert DuBose, ME '48. Scholarships are awarded to students participating in the Co-op Program. Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services with approval of the Director of the Co-op Program.

Duane L. Duncomb Memorial Scholarship

Colonel Nicholas Dunlap Scholarship

William N. Dye, Jr. Scholarship

The fund was created by William N. Dye, Jr., for needy Georgia Tech freshmen to provide scholarships to Georgia residents enrolled for at least 15 credit hours. The scholarship may be renewable provided the student maintains a grade point average of 2.5 or better.  Awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

William H. Eberhardt Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the William H. Eberhardt Scholarships to exceptional undergraduate chemistry students in the College of Sciences .

Faculty members of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry shall nominate candidates for the scholarship with final selection made by the Chair of the School.

Robert and Irene Edwards Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to students seeking a degree in Chemical Engineering. with preference given to a football player.  If such candidate is not found, scholarships may be awarded to any Chemical Engineering majors who have financial need and have excelled academically.

Jeanne Stockman Ellis Memorial Scholarship

The fund provides scholarships to undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in engineering or applied science. Recipients must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or better. Roy and Zou Feagin Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Roy and Zou Feagin scholarships The scholarships shall be awarded to undergraduate students who have a documented disability through the ADAPTS (Access Disabled Assistance Program for Tech Students) Office according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which covers "a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits a major life activity. This includes, but is not limited to, mobility impairments, hearing impairments, visual impairments, learning disabilities, psychological disabilities, and other health conditions."

In awarding the scholarships, preference shall be given to students with at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale who show leadership qualities, and demonstrate financial need. Recipients will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor based on recommendations of the ADAPTS Office. The scholarships will be awarded for one year only, but past recipients may re-apply for the scholarship during the annual application process so long as candidates meet the above-stated standards.

Dakin B. Ferris Scholarship

This scholarship fund was set up by Dakin B. Ferris of the Class of 1950 for the purpose of assisting deserving students to obtain an education, who because of lack of funds, might be unable to attend college.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

J. P. Stevens & Company, Inc. has founded a scholarship for Georgia Tech students who need financial assistance and are academically well qualified.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Debra Kornblut Frank Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships are available to needy and deserving students who have graduated with a B average from Marietta or Lithia Springs High Schools and who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or above while enrolled at Georgia Tech.  Potential recipients are submitted to the donor for final approval.

Roy Gaskins Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship created by Martha S. Gaskins in honor of her husband, Roy Gaskins '36. Recipients shall be Chemical Engineering students who participate in the Co-op Program. The award is based on merit, with preference given to seniors who have completed the Co-op Program. The scholarship is awarded by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services with approval from the Chair of the School of Chemical Engineering and the Director of the Co-operative Division.

General Motors Endowed Scholarship

An endowment by the General Motors Corporation supports a scholarship for needy undergraduate minority and female students enrolled at Georgia Tech. Preference is given to minority General Motors employees, their spouses and children. The scholarship may be renewed for up to three years. The award may be up to a maximum of $2,500 per year.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Georgia Power Textile & Fiber Engineering Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Georgia Power Textile and Fiber Engineering Scholarships. The scholarships shall be awarded by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services on the approval of the School Chair to students who have demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students who are enrolled in the Polymer and Fiber Engineering degree program.

GT Faculty Women’s Club Scholarship

Awards to undergraduates who have completed one semester, must be children or legal dependents of GT faculty or staff, academic merit and financial need may be considered

The income of the fund provides support for need-based undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships for qualified Hispanic/Latino students. The fund provides need-based assistance to Hispanic/Latino students whose families currently reside in the United States .

E.J. Grassmann Scholarship

An endowment was created with gifts from the E.J. Grassman Trust. Awards are made to Ceramic Engineering majors who are enrolled in the School of Material Sciences and Engineering. Scholarships are usually awarded for Honors Day by the academic school.

Christopher Gurley Scholarship

The fund was established in memory of Christopher Gurley by his parents, relatives, and friends to provide academic scholarships for Georgia Tech students. Recipients are selected from freshmen who have demonstrated good character, excellent high school scholastic achievement, good predictability of success at Georgia Tech, and a need for financial assistance.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Gwinner Student Leadership Scholarship

This fund provides a stipend up to one academic year to the president of the Georgia Tech Chapter of the American Institute of Architectural Students (AIAS) as long as the recipient is in office. The recipient must meet institutionally approved standards of satisfactory academic progress and must continue his or her studies in the College of Architecture.

Stephen C Hall Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduates with preference to LCC majors who has a parent serving on active duty military, second preference to Ivan Allen College student who has a parent serving on active duty military, third preference to any undergraduate student who has a parent serving on active duty military

Scholarships from this fund support junior or senior students majoring in Mechanical, Electrical and Computing, or Textile and Fiber Engineering. Recipients should be native born Georgia residents who have demonstrated personal qualities and academic achievement.  Awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Leslie U. and Ola Ryle Hammack Memorial Scholarship

The junior class Mechanical Engineering student with the highest GPA may qualify for this award. The qualified candidate should also be a native born resident of Georgia. The scholarship is for one year only and is merit-based.  Recipients are awarded by the academic school.

Merri Gaye Hitt Scholarship

This fund was established in memory of Merri Gaye Hitt who graduated from Tech in 1977. It assists a deserving member of the ANAK Society who has demonstrated an outstanding record of leadership and service to the university.  Recipients are selected by the ANAK Society and awards are usually made during Honors Day.

Kathy and Carl E. Hofstadter Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Kathy and Carl E. Hofstadter Scholarships.

The Scholarships shall be awarded to U.S. citizens who are juniors or seniors majoring in Civil Engineering.

Marjorie Hollingsworth Scholarship

The income and, if necessary, the principal of the fund is used to provide scholarships for meritorious and/or needy undergraduate students at Georgia institute of Technology. Awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Holsenbeck Family Fund

The Holsenbeck Family Fund has been established as an endowment in memory of Scaborn Washington Arnold, Georgia Ann Hammond Arnold, William Morgan Holsenbeck, Sr., Lovada Arnold Holsenbeck, William Morgan Holsenbeck, Jr. and George Hammond Holsenbeck. Scholarships will be awarded to deserving students selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services. Preference is given to graduates of Barrow and Walton County high schools.

Julius Virgil Hornstein Endowment

The income of the fund supports the Julius Virgil Hornstein scholarships to students enrolled at Georgia Tech.

Michael Horowitz Scholarship

This program was founded by the family of Navy Lt. Michael F. Horowitz who graduated from Tech in 1988. The scholarship is awarded to a Christian engineering student by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services. It may be renewed from quarter to quarter and from year to year as long as the recipient meets institutionally approved standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Thad W. "Pete" Hudson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The income of the Fund provides support for the Thad W. "Pete" Hudson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.

The Scholarships shall be awarded to juniors or seniors majoring in Electrical Engineering, who have an interest in power engineering and who demonstrate financial need. Candidates should have a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be in good academic standing. Preference will be given to candidates who have some experience in consulting engineering such as co-op, summer, or part-time work.

Recipients of the Scholarships will be from the states of Georgia or Mississippi and will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor on the recommendation of the Chair of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

IEEE Scholarship for Power Engineers

The fund is used to provide scholarships to students within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering,  be enrolled in the electric power program, be student members of IEEE

Abraham Illges Memorial Scholarship

The fund provides annual scholarships for outstanding students enrolled in the School of Textile and Fiber Engineering.  Awards are made by the academic school.

Andrew D. Jarrett Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student who wishes to or is participating in the School of Architecture's Paris Program. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In the case of need and qualifications being equal, preference is given to a female or minority student (the latter is defined as African-American, Asian, Native-American, or Hispanic). Awards are made by the academic school.

Bobby L. Johnson Scholarship

The income of the Fund provides support for the Bobby L. Johnson Scholarships. The Scholarships shall be awarded to undergraduate students who are majoring in Civil Engineering. Recipients of the Scholarships will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor

E.R. ("Pick") Johnston Scholarship

This fund was established by E. R. Johnston, Jr. in honor of his father.  This fund is used to support deserving students with preference given to the children of Methodist, Christian Church Disciples of Christ, or other Christian denominational ministers. If such candidates are not found, scholarships may be awarded to any student who demonstrates need and academic achievement.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

James E Johnson Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduates with financial need who live in City of Atlanta, must have strong work history prior to GT application.

Jerry S Johnson Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduates with financial need. First preference to seniors participating in the Professional Practices Division/CoOp; second, non seniors participating in the Professional Practices Division/CoOp; third, general student population.

George and Chappie Johnston Scholarship

This scholarship supports the School of Textile & Fiber Engineering. It is awarded by the school's scholarship committee on the basis of financial need and academic performance.

Augustus P. Jones Scholarship

Funds are available to assists deserving students at Georgia Tech who demonstrate scholastic ability and need. The award is unrestricted as to class year or field of study.  Awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

C. A. Jones Memorial Scholarship

These funds provide annual scholarships for students enrolled in the School of Textile & Fiber Engineering.  Selection is made by the academic school.

Lewis Jordan Scholarship

This endowment was created by the generous gift of Valujet stock from Lewis H. Jordan, III, chairman of Valujet Airlines. Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Jordan , Jones, & Goulding CEE Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Jordan, Jones and Goulding Scholars. The scholarships (and fellowships) shall be awarded to U.S. citizens with preference given to students interested in a consultancy career path who are juniors, seniors, or graduate students majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering. The Office of Student Financial Planning and Services, or its successor, will administer and name the recipient(s) of the award based on the recommendations of the Chair of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Phillip D. Jory Memorial Scholarship

This endowment has been created by Virginia V. Jory, Ph.D., in memory of her husband Phillip. Mr. Jory '58, was a pioneer in concrete pumping and president and CEO of Jory Concrete Pumping Company, which he founded in 1966. Under his leadership, the company worked on Interstate Highway construction and many important building projects in the Atlanta area. This scholarship shall be awarded to U.S. citizens entering their junior or senior year, with first preference given to students concentrating in Geosystems Engineering, and second preference to students studying Structural Engineering or Construction Engineering Management. Extra-curricular activities, academic merit, and financial need will be considered. Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Thomas Jackson Judge Endowment

This endowment was established by Sarah Judge, in honor of her husband, Thomas Jackson Judge Judge EE '34. The scholarship should be awarded to Chemical Engineering majors who have completed their work assignment within the Co-op Program and who need additional funds in order to complete their academic studies. Selection is made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services with approval from the Chair of Chemical Engineering and the Director of the Co-Operative Division.

Kaiser Aluminum Scholarship

The endowment created by the Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation provides scholarships to deserving graduate and undergraduate students pursuing certain academic disciplines of interest to the Corporation. Recipients must also demonstrate a high degree of merit and promise. Preference is given to qualified minority students.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Frank Kalwaites Memorial Scholarship

An annual scholarship is provided from funds given to Georgia Tech by friends of Frank Kalwaites in his memory. The candidates should have an interest in textiles, particularly textile machinery design. Awards are based on academic ability and financial need. Qualified recipients are selected by the representative of the School of Textile and Fiber Engineering.

Kawneer Industrial Design Scholarship

This fund was created to provide scholarships to students enrolling in the College of Architecture's Industrial Design Program. Recipients shall be students in their third year or higher who demonstrate financial need and scholastic excellence. Preference is given to students who attended high school in Georgia. The Director of the Industrial Design Program will make the final selection.

Ben Kay and Anna Parker Armstrong Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Ben Kay and Anna Parker Armstrong Scholarships to qualified undergraduate students. The Ben Kay and Anna Parker Armstrong Scholarships shall benefit needy undergraduate students who are majoring in Mechanical Engineering and who are enrolled in the Co-op Program. If no student majoring in Mechanical Engineering qualifies, then the award shall be given to any co-op student. In awarding this scholarship, first preference shall be given to students who have graduated from high school in Chatham County, Georgia or who have worked there as a Georgia Tech Co-op student. Recipients shall be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services with the approval of the Director of the Co-op Program.

William C. and Vera Watson Keisling Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the William C. and Vera Watson Keisling Scholarships. The scholarships shall be awarded to any deserving person, without regard to race, color, creed, or sex, who can qualify for entrance into Georgia Tech.

John Evan Kelley Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is designated to support deserving, but not necessarily needy students, who are members of the Georgia Tech Band. It is awarded by the scholarship committee of the College of Architecture.

Kelley Family Music Scholarship

The income of the Fund provides support for the Kelley Family Music Scholarship.

The Scholarships shall be awarded to Undergraduate Students who are participating in the music program within the College of Architecture . In selecting candidates, first preference shall be given to members of Briarcliff Baptist Church . Such candidates shall identify themselves to the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor by a minister or interim minister on church letterhead.

Recipients of the scholarship will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor upon recommendation of the Music Department. The scholarships may be renewed for so long as the recipient meets the minimum standard for academic performance.

Richard C. Kessler Scholarship

The Richard C. Kessler scholars must be residents of Effingham County, Georgia, for at least one full year. Recipients are chosen on the basis of merit, with need being a secondary factor.  They will be requested to perform two weeks of voluntary work during the year of the scholarship at New Ebenezer Retreat and Conference Center in Rincon, Georgia. Freshmen candidates must demonstrate service activities, leadership, academic and performance records. Sophomores must have a GPA equal to or greater than the sophomore class average. Preference will be given to Industrial and Systems Engineering majors. The scholarship target amount is $5,000 per year.  Awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Korean Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving Georgia Tech Korean student. Awards are based on academic achievement and financial need.  Awards are made by a selection committee comprised of the President of the Korean Student Association and two faculty members.

Nien-Tseng Nelson Ku Scholarship

Awards to undergraduates in College of Engineering. First preference to residents of mainland China, second preference to residents of Taiwan, third preference to residents of US but of Chinese heritage

Mildred and I. L. Kunian Scholarship

Awards are made from an endowment established through the generosity of Mildred and I. L. Kunian. Funds are used to supplement other financial assistance to gifted students who otherwise could not attend Georgia Tech. The sponsor of this award earned a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering in 1934.  Because of his personal experience as a recipient of financial assistance, he hopes Kunian Scholars will also contribute to the Georgia Tech scholarship fund for the benefit of future needy students.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Kurt Salmon Association Scholarship

This scholarship is available to senior students pursuing a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recipient must be a U.S. citizen.  Awards are made available through the School of Industrial Engineering.

Jim Langley Endowed Scholarship

Awards from this fund are made on behalf of the Buchhead GT Club. Selection criteria includes demonstrated campus leadership and community involvement, a brief essay, and a written recommendation. Eligible students are those who have completed their freshman year, maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA, and are in good academic standing. The scholarship is awarded during the Students Honors Day. Selection is made by a panel made up of Buckhead Club members and a representative of External Affairs.

LaRoche Corporate Scholarship

This scholarship fund was established for incoming freshmen who have scored at least 1100 on the SAT or 25 on the ACT and are in the top 20 percent of their high school class. Juniors and seniors must  maintain a GPA of 2.8 at the end of their sophomore and junior year, respectively.  The awards may be renewed, and the following majors are eligible: Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or other closely related majors. Preference is given to LaRoche Corporation employees and their dependents. Special consideration is also given to minorities and female students.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Recipients of the scholarships will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor on the recommendations of the Chair of the School. Preference will be given to students who are participating in the Co-op program and who are from Savannah , Georgia . If no Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Co-op students are from Savannah , then preference will be given to Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering students who are participating in the Co-op program.

Earnings from this fund provide financial support to undergraduate students with first preference to Mechanical Engineering students and, secondly, to those either majoring in other engineering fields or in chemistry or physics. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need.

This endowment was established with gifts from alumni and friends of the Houston Alumni Club in recognition of the contributions made by Blake Van Leer to Georgia Tech. Recipients shall be undergraduates from the greater Houston area and are selected by the Houston Alumni Club.

Duncan A. (Sr.) and Elizabeth M. Mellichamp Scholarship

The income of the Fund provides support for the Duncan A. (Sr.) and Elizabeth M. Mellichamp Scholarships to benefit students in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering or Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering in alternate years.

The scholarships will be administered by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services as follows:

(a.) The fund shall initially be used to support a single award, made in alternating years first to a student in the School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering on the recommendation of the chair of the school, and then to a student in the School of Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering on the recommendation of the chair of that school, beginning in the 2004-2005 academic year to a student in the School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.

(b.) The annual award may, in the discretion of the awarding school chair be applied in full to a scholarship for the current year, or applied 50% to a scholarship for the current year and the balance to renew the scholarship for a second academic year provided that the recipient has met the standards of acceptable academic performance. If for any reason the scholarship is not renewed, the awarding school chair shall select an alternative recipient.

(c.) The scholarship recipient shall be selected on the basis of merit and academic achievement. Financial need may be considered but shall not be determinative

(d.) If in the future the amount of the annual distribution from the fund becomes sufficient to cover the full tuition and fees of two students, then a second award shall be established and the awards made concurrently to a student in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Polymer, Textile and Fabric Engineering, each on the recommendation of the chair of the respective school as described above. As and if the amount of the annual distribution from the fund becomes sufficient to cover the full tuition and fees of additional students, additional awards may be established, first in the School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, the in the School of Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering, and alternating thereafter.

Shirley Mewborn Perseverance Scholarship

A scholarship is awarded by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services to a female student with need, who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above. It is unrestricted as to field of study.

The income of the fund provides support for the Andrew and Deborah Meyer Scholarships to deserving undergraduate students who have demonstrated financial need. Recipients of the Scholarships will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services or its successor.

Buck Mickel Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded from a fund established by Buck and Minor Mickel. Awards are made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services to needy students with preference to graduates of Elberton High School, Elberton, Georgia.

Mavis Miller Endowment Scholarship

This scholarship assists students from Lee, Osceola, or Polk County, Florida, with preference to Lee County. To qualify for the award, the candidate must have resided in one of the above named counties for not less than fifteen of the preceding eighteen years. Awards may be made regardless of need or academic standing.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

This endowment was created in honor of Howard S. Millsaps, IM '48 by Fred S. Millsaps. Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in the Co-op Program and are based on financial need and academic merit. Selection is made by the Office of Student Financial Planing & Services.

Marvin G. Mitchell Endowed Scholarship

Scholarships are provided from an endowment created by the Chicago Bridge and Iron Company in honor of Marvin G. Mitchell, retired chairman of the board. Awards are for deserving and needy students seeking a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Computer, Chemical, or Industrial and Systems Engineering.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

William F. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship assists entering freshmen students from North Carolina majoring in Engineering. Preference is given to students from the Asheville area westward within the state of North Carolina. Awards are based on strong academic promise and financial need. The scholarship may be renewed for up to three years if the student maintains a strong academic record and continues to show need.  Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Edgar B. Montague Scholarship

This fund has been established by Edgar B. Montague, Jr., in honor of his father Edgar Burwell Montague, Class of 1915. The scholarship is merit-based. Recipients are chosen by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

George G. Mooney Scholarship

An annual scholarship is awarded to a deserving student enrolled in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.  Funds for this award are provided from a gift made by the firm of Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan, Inc. The recipient is selected on the basis of academic ability and financial need.

A scholarship is available to students preferably residing in Effingham County, Georgia. Awards are made from a fund established by Lawton M. Nease III and are granted to students in all majors. The scholarship is renewable for up to 12 quarters.  Recipients are selected by the donor.

Robert Stratton Neblett Scholarship

This fund was established in memory of Robert Stratton Neblett by the estate of Alice K. McTerney. Scholarships are awarded to worthy and financial needy students attending Georgia Tech. Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

F. D. Nichols III Memorial Scholarship

A scholarship fund was established by the parents, friends, and relatives of Frank David Nichols III in his memory. This renewable scholarship provides financial support for an incoming freshman from Georgia. Recipients are selected on the basis of need, high scholastic achievement, self-motivation, and a willingness to work toward goals. Candidates must demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.  Selection is made by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services with final approval of the donor.

Thad S. Oliver, Jr. and Thad S. Oliver, III Memorial Scholarship

The income of the fund provides support for the Thad S. Oliver, Jr. and Thad S. Oliver, III Memorial Scholarships to qualified undergraduate students. The scholarships shall be awarded by the Office of Student Financial Planning and Services to rising juniors studying in the College of Engineering who have demonstrated financial need and are ranked in the upper half of their class. If in awarding the scholarships if more than one qualified candidate is identified, preference shall be given first to students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, in the Co-operative Program and from out-of-state. If no such student is identified preference shall be given to a student meeting two of the above three characteristics. Finally, if no such student is identified preference shall be given to a student meeting one of the characteristics. In the case of equally qualified candidates the scholarship shall be awarded to the student with the highest academic standing.

L. Howard Olson Scholarship

The income of the Fund is used to provide for the L. Howard Olson (Prestige) Scholarship to undergraduate students in the School of Polymer , Textile and Fiber Engineering. The recipients will be selected by the Chair of the School of Polymer , Textile and Fiber Engineering.

Paden-Cheves Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students majoring in Industrial Management or Mechanical Engineering with a demonstrated interest in metallurgy, who have completed the sophomore curriculum. The recipient should be a U.S. citizen with a GPA of at least 2.7 or above. Scholarship is awarded by Directors of academic schools.

V.D. Parrott Scholarship

This endowment was created in honor of V.D. Parrott, '37, a native of Dalton, Georgia, by Missy McCamy Phillips, the daughter of Mr. Parrott's long time friend Carlton McCamy, and by contributions from other friends and associates of Mr. Parrott. Recipients shall be graduates of Dalton High School or a high school in Whitfield County. Recipients are selected by the Office of Student Financial Planning & Services.

Harman Wayne Patterson Scholarship

The income of the fund is used to provide scholarship(s) at Georgia Tech with preference given to prospective students and students who are residents of Muscogee County, Georgia. The recipients are selected by the Office of Financial Aid at Georgia Tech.

Edward L. Patton Scholarship
