American Indian College Fund Corporate Scholars Program

  • Accounting, Information Systems, Marketing, Finance, Operations Management, Computer Science, Computer, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Majors
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA
  • Must be at least sophomore status
  • American Indian, Alaska Native or Hawaii Native
  • Must have demonstrated financial need

ASCO Numatics Scholarship

  • Two scholarships available for outstanding undergraduates or graduate students pursuing a career in manufacturing and processing engineering.
  • Student must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline at an accredited US educational institution for the 2008-2009 aid year.
  • At the time of the application, they must have completed at least their sophomore year in a bachelor's degree program and have at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0.
  • Student must be a U.S. Citizen or a legal resident of the United States.
  • Deadline: July 31, 2008.

Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers (AFCCE)

  • Awards available to college level juniors and seniors who are undertaking a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited college or university with a major in engineering or science and related to the telecommunications field.
  • Please note that Georgia Tech students may list David Layer as their AFCCE sponsor. Mr. Layer's email is dlayer@nab.org

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta

  • Many different scholarships are available on this page including many differing requirements and deadline dates.
  • Scholarships are available to undergrads, grads, and non-traditional students.
  • Financial need, family situation, and/or geographical data are considered in some decisions made by the scholarship committees.

Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender Educational Scholarships

  • Comprehensive listing of National and Local Scholarships for GLBTQ students.
  • Student must usually identify as a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transgendered person in order to qualify for any of the awards listed on this web site.
  • Organizations represented include PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), The Point Foundation, GLAAD (Gays and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network) and NGLTF (National Gay and Lesbian Task Force).

Gilman International Scholarship (up to $5,000 for students studying abroad)

  • Applicant must be receiving a Pell Grant currently or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant at time of application.
  • Student must have been accepted into a Study Abroad program that is accepted by their home institute.
  • The Study Abroad term must be at least four weeks long.
  • The Study Abroad program can take place in any country except for Cuba.
  • The Gilman International Scholarship has cycles that give awards out for Fall and Spring semesters, the deadline below is for students to be awarded in Fall of 2006. The Gilman does NOT offer Summer awards for Study Abroad.
  • Deadline: The applications have closed for Fall 2008. We will update this entry with the Spring 2009 dates as soon as we receive that information from the Gilman International Scholarship.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

  • Students must be in their first or second year of Graduate Studies. Students already in graduate school are elligible as long as they have not moved past their second year, with the exception of dual degree programs.
  • Candidates must hold Green Cards, be naturalized citizens of the U.S., or a child or two naturalized citizen parents.
  • The fellowship provides awards of $20,000 maintenance and half tuiion (up to a maximum of $16,000 per academic year) wherever the Fellow attends to thirty qualified applicants.
  • Deadline: November 1st, 2008

United Negro College Fund Scholarships

  • A comprehensive list of scholarships that each have individual requirements for applicants to meet.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA standards vary by scholarship, but a 3.00 or higher is advised.
  • Be enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university.
  • These scholarships will require you to be of minority status which could be any of the following: African American, Asian Pacific Islander, Hispanic American, or American Indian/Alaskan Native descent, depending upon the individual requirements of the scholarship.
  • Some of these scholarships have corporate sponsors such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Intel, UPS, Chrysler, Federated Department Stores, Nestle, and Time-Warner.
