Current Outside Scholarships Accepting Applications

 

Gilman International Scholarship (up to $5,000 for students studying abroad)

  • Applicant must be receiving a Pell Grant currently or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant at time of application.
  • Student must have been accepted into a Study Abroad program that is accepted by their home institute.
  • The Study Abroad term must be at least four weeks long.
  • The Study Abroad program can take place in any country except for Cuba.
  • The Fall 2009 application deadline is April 7th and Spring 2010 application deadline is October 10th. The Gilman does NOT offer Summer awards for Study Abroad.

Georgia Fiscal Management Council Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a full or part-time college senior, rising college senior or graduate student
  • A cumulative and major GPA of not less than 3.0
  • Applicant must have their application endorsed by the Department Chair
  • A statement that the student intends to pursue a career in public service related to Fiscal Management or Administration.
  • Applicant must be pursuing a major in Accounting, Public or Business Administration or Finance.

United Negro College Fund Scholarships

  • A comprehensive list of scholarships that each have individual requirements for applicants to meet.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA standards vary by scholarship, but a 3.00 or higher is advised.
  • Be enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university.
  • These scholarships will require you to be of minority status which could be any of the following: African American, Asian Pacific Islander, Hispanic American, or American Indian/Alaskan Native descent, depending upon the individual requirements of the scholarship.
  • Some of these scholarships have corporate sponsors such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Intel, UPS, Chrysler, Federated Department Stores, Nestle, and Time-Warner.
