Tutor

CEISMC
Students travel to elementary, middle, and high schools in the Atlanta area and tutor students in reading, math, and science. Candidates must be a current student in good academic standing, have transportation, or be willing to use public transportation, are reliable and dependable, have a desire to work with children of all levels and backgrounds and have excellent communication skills.

Housing
Tutors assist residents (students) with fundamental concepts necessary for success in the classroom. Tutors serve as a postivie academic role model and a resource. Tutors should have good interpersonal skills. Tutors assist with calculus, chemistry, physics, and/or computer science.

Jump Start
Jump Start Corps members complete 300 hours of service during the school year, working with pre-k children using activities that focus on pre-literacy and school preparation. Corps members receive intensive pre-service training, attend ongoing workshops, work on a team with others, and participate in community services projects.

Jump Start Team Leaders complete 300 hours of service, leading 5 to 6 Corps members to implement literacy based activities in local preschools, twice weekly for two hours in each session. Responsibilities include planning weekly team meetings, modeling, coaching strategies for working with children and communicating with teachers, administrators, and the Jump Start Program manager.

OMED
Tutor freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in various coursework. Some emphasis will be placed on Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics.

Student Assistant I

ADAPTS-Disability Services - Office of the Dean of Students
1st position ADAPTS Office Student Assisttant will assist Senior Secretary in receptionist duties (answer telephones, take messages). Light clerical duties (filing, copying). Other standard office duties.

2nd position- ADAPTS Testing Center Student Assistant- Campus delivery of exams, scanning and loading information onto server. Assisting testing center coordinator.

Athletics/Sports Communications
Filing, computer input, research, accumulation of statistical informaiton for reporting purposes.

Biology
To assist Dr. Merrill with office work, such as copying, filing, library work, web site work, compiling bibliographies, t-square file creation, and organization.

Biomedical Engineering
Responsibilities include database entry, greeting students and visitors in a receptionist role, filing, preparing files, copying and faxing, mail pick-up and delivery and assisting Academic Office staff in special projects and other duties as assigned. Seeking non- BME undergraduate students who are well organized, neat appearance, has good communication and time management skills, and experience working in a professional/college atmosphere to fill this position; Student must adhere to strict confidentiality rules and procedures, be punctual and dependable and have a high level of attention to details. Basic computer skills are required and more experience to expert level of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and database skills is preferred. Web experience is also a plus.

Building Construction - College of Architecture
Assist in general office duties. Assist faculty as needed, making copies, preparing PowerPoint presentations, etc.

Campus Recreation Center
Manually scan ID cards of patrons and/or monitor hand geometry. Communicate any emergency associated with the security system. Educate and inform patrons of rules and regulations. Input data into membership system. Be proficient with the operation of the entrance system/security system and sound/intercom/paging system. Rent, renew, and clean out lockers. Provide tours of the facility. Assist with the pro shop sales. Log in/out lost and found items. Read and understand all new correspondence. Attend staff meetings as scheduled. Conduct oneself in a professional and friendly manner at all times. Report to work on time. Provide a substitute for absences and be up to date with required training.

CEISMC
Answering the phones, sort mail, skillful in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc..,) answer the door and greet visitors.

Chemistry and Biochemistry
Typing, photocopying, faxing, answering phones, taking messages, running errands, making file folders, handling confidential files, sorting mail, preparing refreshment table for conferences, escorting guests on campus, interacting with faculty and meeting/greeting guests at the front desk.

Civil and Environmental Engineering
Student woul dbe responsible for answering main CEE phone lines; receiving and sorting mail (incoming and outgoing); receiving and logging all packages to include preparing outbound packages); assisting with preparation of special projects; and running campus errands. Students must possess a valid GA drivers license as he/she may need to use campus vehicle to complete tasks.

Civil and Environmental Engineering
Student assistant will assist in the research administration office by performing various clerical tasks. During the proposal stage, student will log and track proposals that are in the process of being submitted. Once submitted, student will be responsible for electronic and hard-copy filing. Additionally, the student should be familiar with web based applications as the job may entail some internet operations. Student will also be asked to run errands to pick up at or drop off to different departments on campus.

Civil and Environmental Engineering
Student would be responsible for answering main CEE phone lines; receiving and sorting mail (incoming /outgoing); receiving and logging packages (to include preparing outbound packages); assisting w/preparation of special projects; and completing on campus errands. Student must possess a valid GA driver’s license, as he/she may need to use campus vehicle to complete tasks.

Civil and Environmental Engineering
Administrative Support for myself and 10 Faculty members. Duties to include general office procedures such as (but are not limited to): answering phones, faxing, copying, scanning, typing, picking up and dropping off mail, running campus errands, creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, mass mailings, equipment inventory, binding documents, web searches, downloading information, and web postings.

College of Computing
This person's core responsibilities will be to copy, file, make deliveries across campus, interact with students about time sheet issues, have student contact with various issues, and perform miscellaneous duties as they arise. This person will dress in business casual (no shorts or t-shirts) and will be the first person people see when entering the business office. This person also will need to keep to a certain schedule, which will be determined by the schedule of the student already working here.

College of Management
Students will work 12 or more hours per week Monday through Friday. General clerical duties, filing, running GT related errands, word processing, and assisting program director & staff.

Dean of Students
The Jump Start Program Assistant supports the program manager with the operation of Georgia Tech's Jump Start program including tasks such as time sheet collection, data entry/management, creating newsletters, and other media materials. Documenting work done in schools and in the community. Event planning and assisting with recruitment of Corps members and volunteers.

Dean of Students
The Jump Start Volunteer Coordinator completes 300 hours of service leading 5 to 6 Corps members to implement literacy based activities in local pre-schools twice weekly for two hours each session. Dean of Students

College of Architecture
Students will learn and manage the printing and plotting Room 359 in the Architecture building. They help COA computer users with plotting techniques, answer questions, and configure computers for the IT department. They will work for Jeff Langston who is in charge of the areas associated with their responsibilities.

Enterprise Innovation Institute
Student assistant will provide clerical support to Office Manager and research support to other CPRS managers and project director conducting economic development research for the state of Georgia, regions, city and county governments, and local development organizations. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in the research that drives public policy decisions at all levels of government. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel and MS Word, be well-organized, have excellent telephone skills, and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment involving multiple projects and team members. Historic Academy of Medicine / Student Center
The Historic Academy of Medicine student assistant must possess excellent customer service skills, in addition to being a great communicator. Duties include greeting guests, typing, filing, web and database maintenance, event planning and event management. Schedule may vary week to week, including weekends depending on the number of events scheduled.

School of History, Technology and Society
Department is looking to hire undergraduate work study student (preferably in the Ivan Allen College) to work as an assistant to the Undergraduate Coordinator, Amy D’Unger. Student must have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office. Website design, web maintenance experience or basic programming skills (HTML, PHP, CSS, etc.) are a big plus. Industrial and Systems Engineering

International Affairs

Music Department

OHR-Records Office
This is a filing position. The job duties includes heavy filing, file preparation, pulling files, data entry, assisting customers, answering phones and other duties as assigned.

Office of Information Technology
Responsible for serving as front desk receptionist in the technology support center. Greet customers, capture visits in Remedy, assign customers to technicians for service, run small errands for support staff between library and Rich bldg, have a general knowledge of GT's campus, possess general computer skills (i.e., internet, microsoft office), great people skills, great demeanor, and great organizational skills needed.

OIT - Print & Copy Services
Student Center Copy Center - Student Assistant. Assistants are responsible for the daily operations of the Copy Center. Responsibilities include loading and maintaining copiers, transmitting faxes, binding, informing customers about facility offerings, and tracking inventory. Assistants are expected to maintain a clean copy area, and work with Copy Center patrons to provide excellent customer service.

Office of Radiological Safety
Duties include but not limited to greeting visitors, typing, filing, copying, data entry, delivering and picking up documents on campus, assist with scheduled lunches, and open to various other assignments. Preference given to student capable of typing equations. Basic receptionist duties.

Student Center
Information desk attendants are the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. They handle questions about the student center, campus events, general campus questions, and/or the metro Atlanta area. Telephone inquiries, lost and found, room reservations, and other general questions.

Student Center Administration Office
Working in a team BuzzBag student assistants will handle the assembly and deliver of BuzzBags. Maintain an inventory of items to include in the BuzzBags and assist with marketing the services offered via BuzzBags to on or off campus departments

Student Center Craft Services
Looking for customer services staff, must be enrolled as a GT student, experience in arts & crafts is preferred. Must be willing to learn basics of all functional areas of the craft center and attend staff meetings. Minimum two semester work period is preferred.

Student Center Auxiliary Services
The purpose of this position is to facilitate and process clients' requests for event reservation. The student will also maintain a database with over 700 clients and assist in implementing over 17,000 events at the Student Center.

Industrial Systems Engineering

Logistics
Assist in the pickup and delivery of surplus equipment from campus department. Ablity to lift heavy objects,. participate in surplus process improvement, and warehouse organization process.

Material Sciences
Filing, scanning, mail sorting, invoice/purchase order matching, data entry, and campus errands. Must have Excel and Word experience.

MSE
The student will assist Prof. Gerhardt with setting up of a website for her research group, upload research publications, assist with generating publication quality graphs (data has already been collected) and general office duties

College of Management

Supporting, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware/software issues. Assisting customers with requests for help in the operation of computer systems, installation of hardware and software, account management, virus detection/clean up, configurations, email clients, anti-spam tools, IT security applications, and printing. Interface with technical teams and customers from within a help desk environment.

Robert C. Williams Paper Museum
Applicants for this job should enjoy working with children and the general public. Student Assistants at the museum will support museum staff with daily museum activities. Students will help to do group tours in the museum and will assist with exhibition installation and design and with daily office activities such as the design of press releases and other documents as well as museum record keeping.

Biomedical Engineering
Assist in preparation of experimental protocols in the instructional labs in the biomedical engineering department.

College of Architecture - IMAGINE Lab
The student will assist in the day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of the lab. The student will eb in charage of taking inventory and keeping supplies stocked. The student will also assist researchers in data collection for various projects.

Chemistry
Seeking undergraduate student for lab related work.

Psychology
Administering memory and motor tasks to participants as part of an NIH funded study as well as schedule appointments and other office duties. Attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, ability to relate to adults of all ages is essential. Candidate should be available to work 4 hour time slots in the morning 9 am - 1 pm and/or afternoons noon - 4 pm.

Civil and Environmental Engineering
Qualifications and/or responsibilities to include some or all of the following: staff Environmental Hydraulics lab and provide support when asked, work on undergraduate experiments; assist faculty, staff, and students as needed; clean lab equipment; organize lab and inventory equipment; understand specific computer programs; other duties as assigned. Would prefer light construction experience. Knowledge of basic hand tools a must. Knowledge of shop equipment a plus.

Civil and Environmental Engineering
Assists researchers with electronic instrumentation, setup of instruments for structural tests, assist in construction of test specimens, and assist lab manager in maintenance of lab equipment.

Environmental Health and Safety
Conduct fume hood and eye wash performance testing. File reports on tests. File work orders on fume hoods and eye washes as needed. Do follow-up on work orders. Retest as needed. Conduct ten point laboratory inspections. File reports. Do follow-up as needed. Assist customers with the use of Chematix chemical inventory management system. Will train on all the above.

Undergraduate Research Assistant I

Architecture
The student will assist in the initial exploratory research for a variety of projects. The student should have good verbal and written communication skills, working knowledge of Excel and Access, and hte ability to handle some administrative related tasks. The student will work in the College of Architecture and develop a knowledge of real-time graphics.

Enterprise Innovation Institute
Assist EI2s research librarian, prepare background reports on markets, industries, products, competition, and technologies relevant to businesses assisted by EI2. Help dismantle small library. Experience in searching GT's library article databases required.

GTRI-EOSL
Student will work in a team environment to study applications of carbon nanotrubes will utilize thermal evaporators, photolithography, clean room tools, electrical probe stations, scanning electronmicroscopy, e-ray difractometers, chemical vapor deposition, molecular beam epitaxy, ion assisted depostion, equipment and other tools. Prior experience is useful but not necessary. Thorough training will be provided.

These students will work on developing a database of emails for people to receive an online survey on international collaboration in science. They will learn survey and online research skills.

The student will assist in research pertaining to the use of game engine technologies for visualization of architecture. The student will utilitze software for scripting, modeling, and texturing for virtual environments.

Center for Advanced Communication Policy
Will work with Senior research staff to conduct research on aspects of telecommunications and information policy and policy related to disability, workplace accommodations, and wireless technologies for individuals with disabilities. Duties may include conducting literature reviews, reviewing relevant court cases and legislation, assisting in the development of survey instrumentation, statistical analysis, as well as conducing best practices research on specific policy. Excellent writing, research skills are required. Prefer a student who has previous research experience. Familiarity with domestic US policy, regulatory and legislative processes is critical.

The students will work as research assistants on different projects of Dr. Guensler's research group. Job responsibilities include field data collection, database input using excel/access, simple data analysis, and some administrative related tasks.

The Business Research assistant helps EI2's research librarian prepare background reports on markets, industries, products, competition, and technologies relevant to businesses assisted by EI2 (www.innovate.gatech.edu). Student will also help dismantle small library. Experience searching Tech libary article databases required.

Develop and implement a campus tornado campaign. Maintain emergency databases and contact information. Assist with emergency preparedness drills and exercises. Assist in Emergency Operation Center training.

College of Computing
Assist with installation of hardware and software. Configuration of servers, desktops, laptops, and operating systems. Interface with staff and customers. Work 15 to 20 hours per week. Good customer service and ability to work well with others is required. Specific needs: experience with Unix and Windows system administration is desired.

Design flyers and publicity materials for events and maintain spreadsheets, databases and reports. Represent department at information tables. Provide assistance with WRC events and programs. Interest in women's issues preferred.
