A Georgia Tech education is an excellent investment in a student's future. Why? Because Tech does everything possible to address two very important concerns: exceptional quality and acceptable costs. In fact, because of our status as a public institution, we are able to keep costs lower than most other universities with comparable academic reputations. Even so, a college education represents a significant expense. For this reason, each year more than 11,000 Tech students receive assistance from our Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to help offset the cost of their college education.

Georgia Tech is cost effective and a best buy. Each year Georgia Tech awards undergraduates more than $105 million in aid that is need based, merit based, or a combination of the two. It is important to recognize that the amount of financial aid that may be granted to any individual student seldom meets all the student's educational expenses. However, even students who do not qualify for significant amounts of financial aid at Georgia Tech will often pay the same or less out-of-pocket than they would at other schools that offer larger aid packages but also have much higher overall costs. Detailed information on distribution of aid at Georgia Tech is available at www.irp.gatech.edu.
